If you find yourself on a road trip headed to see how the Amish community lives, you will have to pass through Martinsburg because it is the Gateway to Amish Country. Located in Holmes County, Martinsburg Marathon is a gas station and convenience store where you can stop to fill up your tank and grab a quick snack or drink. Here you will find great prices on items such as velvet ice cream, wine, beer, ice, Hunt Brothers Pizza, wings, subs, salads, live bait, farm feeds, pet feeds, toys, Amish baskets, propane refills, kerosene, diesel, gas, and even an ATM if you need some cash.

While you are on the Byway to Amish Country, be sure to take the time to view Martinsburg and its beautiful scenic areas. Martinsburg Marathon is located on 1 of the 27 Ohio Byways. The Ohio Byways are a great way to get off the interstate and slow down to a more relaxed pace. What can be more relaxing than a nice drive along “The Gateway to Amish Country”? Holmes County has over 4 million visitors a year, and once you visit, you’ll understand why. The Amish lifestyle will take you back to a simpler time when telephones, computers, and modern conveniences of today did not exist.

What You’ll Find
Along this Ohio Byway, you’ll discover Amish buggies, farm markets full of baked goods, and plenty of Amish baskets and crafts. Travel to Millersburg and Berlin, which are both a the heart of Amish Country, and are great getaways to experience an old way of life. Area hotels and inns, along with bed and breakfasts, offer a wide range of overnight lodging. Amish Country offers a great selection of Amish cooking and plenty of historic sites to celebrate the history of the Amish and the German people. Gateway to Amish Country

Martinsburg Marathon State route 62, 586 541 Gateway to Amish Country

Martinsburg Marathon is located on the famous Gateway to Amish Country. You can find us at the crossroads of Rt 62, 541, and 586. The Gateway to Amish Country is a 30-mile stretch through the Ohio countryside.

Go West Young Man
Along the way, enjoy rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The Kokosing Gap
& Mohican Valley trails both offer a unique experience as you walk or ride your bike along the old railroad paths. Take the Kokosing Gap Trail out of Danville and go west towards Gambier to view an old Alco 0-6-0 Locomotive and C & O Caboose.

…Or Go East
Go east out of Danville along the Mochican Valley Trail and ride over Ohio’s largest covered bridge, “The Bridge of Dreams.” This 370-foot long bridge is also reportedly the 2nd longest covered bridge in the nation. Enjoy the view of the Mochican River as you ride over “The Bridge of Dreams.” You can follow this trail all the way to Millersburg, Ohio, possibly the heart of Amish Country.
